I am curious whether or not it is possible to use the PAA with a non-GOTO mount by manually rotating the RA by the approximate 30°. In other words will the calculations still work if the rotation is not perfectly consistent? . My goal is to Polar align a SW Star Adventurer with the routine.
I'm no expert, but my reasoning is that it should be possible since it is based on a form of triangulation, and that shouldn't require equidistant sample points. If this can be done, it would be good to have to option to untoggle automatic mode added back in do have the opportunity to move the mount before the next capture.
