Google Summer of Code 2017 is coming up soon. In GSoC 2017, students can participate in many open source projects during the summer period. If they successfully implement the project, they get paid by Google. All students around the world can participate (Undergraduates + Graduate). The 2017 ideas for KStars are here:

If you know of an exceptionally intelligent student who has a solid background in programming and mathematics, please ask them to communicate with me to see if they can participate in the project. The projects launched by KStars this years are very challenging, so only very exceptional students, average students won't simply do.
